The flu can be a serious illness and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends that everyone age six months and older get a flu shot. Certain groups are at greater risk for serious complications from the flu and are strongly encouraged to be vaccinated. These groups include:
- People age 65 and older
- Pregnant women
- People with chronic diseases or serious illnesses such as asthma, diabetes, cancer or heart disease
Be proactive and protect your health as well as that of your family. If you have insurance, most all insurance plans cover the cost of a flu shot.
