Infectious Disease Specialist
Dr. Tanvir was born and raised in Pakistan. He attended Punjab Medical College University of Punjab. After graduating from medical school, he came to the United States to serve an Internal Medicine residency at St. Barnabas Hospital, Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York. Dr. Tanvir practiced as a board certified internist in Arizona for an eight year period, serving the medically underserved. In 2011 Dr. Tanvir began an Infectious Disease fellowship program at the University of Utah, completing the program in 2013. Dr. Tanvir is a board certified Infectious Disease Specialist. He treats patients with a broad range of infectious diseases including:
Bacterial infections: MRSA/Staph, respiratory, heart valve, bone joint, brain, post-operative infecions, and others
Fungal infections: candida, mold, endemic fungi, cocci, histo and blasto
Viral infections: HIV, Herpes, Shingles, Hepatitis B & C, respiratory viral infections
Other infections: Tick-born diseases, Tuberculosis and other Mycobacterial infections
Dr. Tanvir has a strong interest in medical ethics and quality improvement. He is a member of the Infectious Disease Society of America.
In his leisure time he enjoys spending time with his amazing son.
